As of Sep 22, letter complete.
Dear Trick or Treat Creator,
It’s my favorite time of year: horror and Halloween and fall weather and Trick or Treat.
I unexpectedly had to miss Trick or Treat last year, and spooky season just wasn't the same!
Do Not Wants and general likes, followed by fandom-specific details, below. If there’s a discrepancy between the DNWs/general likes and the fandom-specific details, go with the fandom-specific. Mixing and matching fandoms and prompts welcome, as is making any prompt a trick or a treat.
My absolute favorite things: werewolves, crossovers and alternate universes (the stranger and more unusual the better), and monsters and magic.
I requested fic and tricks and treats. For the freeform tags: I am interested in extra gifts for the community challenge that don’t fit my requests. You may ignore my art/fic preferences for extra gifts.
My AO3 name is
escritoireazul
General Likes
+ Halloween and horror movies, particularly horror movie alternate universes in any canon
+ alternate universes, a non-exhaustive list: werewolves, witches and witch hunters, IN SPACE, horror movies, haunted summer camps, ghost hunters (including this state-mandated idea), portal fantasies, monsters, canon divergence, weird west/wild west (I particularly like the outlaw feel of it, untamed and wild, big spaces with nowhere to hide, big woods claustrophobic around you, danger at every turn, as long as the AU avoids the magical Indian/savage Indian/white savior bullshit that can show up in weird west and westerns in general)
+ monsters of the week, casefic, adventure stories, mysteries
+ friends and family teaming up to save the world, particularly on road trips, and becoming chosen family along the way
+ crossovers and fusions so long as my requested characters are the main characters
+ tropes, a non-exhaustive list: wilderness survival, huddling for warmth, forced proximity, friends to lovers, enemies to friends (to lovers), there’s only one bed oh no, fake dating, survival horror, abandoned ships, burial at sea, burial by fire, crashed on a deserted island, ghost ships, not-so-safe harbor, locked-room mysteries, came back wrong
+ kink (female top/dom only except for biting and bloodplay): biting, light bondage, impact play, rough body play, bloodplay for supernatural characters, fireplay, marking, sensory overload, orgasm denial/control, pegging
Do Not Wants
+ stories focused on dealing with discrimination (racism, sexism, biphobia, fat hate, ableism, etc.)
+ character bashing or villainizing
+ rape, non-con, and dub-con
+ embarrassment/humiliation
+ permanent character death for my requested characters
+ big age difference in older man/younger woman romantic relationships (except for supernatural characters)
+ a/b/o or werewolf stories with Big Tough Alpha Male tropes
+ pregnancy, including mpreg
+ spiders, especially in art
Requests
Jurassic Park Original Trilogy (Movies): Ship: Kelly Malcolm/Lex Murphy (JP OTM), Lex Murphy (JP OTM), Kelly Malcolm (JP OTM)
Mummy (Movies 1999-2008): Ship: Ardeth Bey/Evy Carnahan O'Connell/Rick O'Connell (Mummy 1999-2008)
Trick 'r Treat (2008): Laurie (Trick 'r Treat), Danielle (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Rhonda & The Werewolf Pack (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Danielle/Laurie (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Any Werewolf Pack Member(s) & Any Werewolf Pack Member(s) (Trick 'r Treat)
Jurassic Park Original Trilogy (Movies): Ship: Kelly Malcolm/Lex Murphy (JP OTM), Lex Murphy (JP OTM), Kelly Malcolm (JP OTM)
What I like: Dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs so much. Girls and women getting to do amazing things and have great adventures without being treated like they are weak and worthless by the narrative. (I was less than impressed with Jurassic World because of the treatment of women and characters of color, particularly women of color.) Scientists being awesome.
Prompts:
More adventures. Lex and Kelly are far too smart to end up on an island full of genetically-modified dinosaurs, but the parks keep going and so do they. After surviving dinosaurs, thrill seeking becomes serious business. Dinosaur Survivor Family Reunions. Sarah and Ellie become mentors for Lex and Kelly.
Alternate universes and crossovers. Weird west. Time travel. Reliving the same day until they figure out how to get it right. Werewolf pack coming together. Dinosaurs aren't the only science-created monsters in the world. Girls who survived monsters of whatever type in canon coming together as they try to deal with normal life after all of that.
Love and romance and sex! Falling in love with one of the few people who understands what you went through. Learning to trust after being thrown together with a stranger who is closer than anyone else because they know. Trying to date people who don't understand. Growing up through fear and heartbreak and joy and love. All of the tropes. All of them.
Mummy (Movies 1999-2008): Ship: Ardeth Bey/Evy Carnahan O'Connell/Rick O'Connell (Mummy 1999-2008)
What I like: Cheesy supernatural adventures in the sand with incredibly hot people making terrible decisions and saving the world. The movie is pure ridiculous adventure, and I love it for both not taking itself too seriously but also not disrespecting itself. Evy the librarian, the softness between Evy and Rick, the chemistry between Evy, Rick, and Ardeth, the silliness and fun of the adventures, that moment when Imhotep smears the gold on Anck-su-namun’s skin, which he certainly could never have avoided so they wouldn’t be caught, the wider world building around the Medjai and reincarnation.
I'm more familiar with the first movie than any of the others, and like it best, but you are welcome to pull details from the others and set the story at any point in time, if you choose to set within the canon.
Prompts:
More adventures. Evy finding more and more artifacts to search for and protect. Evy accidentally raising the dead in other places. Evy in the jungle, or the forest, or deep in the ice and snow trying to stop people from raising the dead. Cursed objects, haunted places, and all the trouble she can get into. Saving the world over and over again, different types of monsters each time (and sometimes the threat is only human).
Alternate universes and crossovers. IN SPACE! And all the alien artifacts she could find on other worlds. Weird west. Evy hunting monsters with Rick and Ardeth. Time travel. Reliving the same day until she figures out how to get it right. Werewolf pack coming together. Modern AU with modern adventures and complications around archaeology.
Love and romance and sex! We survive celebratory sex. Ancient sex magic and rituals. Slow build threesome. Out of nowhere threesome. They’re tied together throughout lifetimes as lovers and friends. Learning how to be happy together while at peace, with no monsters to fight, and with such different lives and experiences. Traveling together, filled with tropes (there was only one bed, snowed in, hurt/comfort).
Trick 'r Treat (2008): Laurie (Trick 'r Treat), Danielle (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Rhonda & The Werewolf Pack (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Danielle/Laurie (Trick 'r Treat), Ship: Any Werewolf Pack Member(s) & Any Werewolf Pack Member(s) (Trick 'r Treat)
What I like: Werewolves. Vicious, violent, vivacious women who are werewolves. The way sisters and sister-friends fight and bond. Werewolf traditions. Rhonda surviving cruelty and finding her own ways to get vengeance.
Prompts:
Werewolves as chosen family. Do they consider each other a pack? Is that even how werewolves work here? Laurie’s young and they tease her a lot, but there’s plenty of love between them. There are many Halloweens to come, and all of them bathed in blood. They aren’t always hunting and killing, and slice of life around the violence (including the violence, maybe). Rhonda finds herself alone again and again and then there is this group of women who are everything.
Worldbuilding. Werewolves hunting their prey. Sometimes in neighborhoods full of people. Sometimes in secluded woods. Does silver work on them? Other rituals beyond the special “first time” and the Halloween feast. Are werewolves only women and do they only hunt men? Rhonda growing up knowing about all the monsters.
Alternate universes and crossovers. Clearly I love werewolves in space. Laurie and her sister-friends team up with women werewolves in any other fandom. Weird west werewolves choosing first time victims from outlaws and gunslingers. Rhonda and her attack werewolves.
