Another break from studying to eat, and here is a meme. I'm counting these even if I didn't see them in the theater, because I do a lot of movie-watching at home, my home or my friends' homes, especially since J. and
nikitangel both have awesome projectors in their home theaters.
100 Biggest-Grossing Movies Meme
The ones I've seen are bolded.
Titanic (1997) (I saw this multiple times in the theater during high school. My friends could never all go at once, so I went with different groups.)
The Dark Knight (2008) (I saw this multiple times in the theater, too. Once in Seattle at the Imax for a work event, once in Michigan at an Imax, and once in Ohio at an Imax.)
Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)
Shrek 2 (2004) (I love Shrek and Shrek 2. Shrek 3, now, that was pretty bad.)
E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006)
Spider-Man (2002)
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) (Man, I thought I'd held out longer on not seeing it. Only since 2005? That's not testing my will power at all.)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Spider-Man 2 (2004)
The Passion of the Christ (2004)
Jurassic Park (1993) (I literally cannot tell you how many times I've seen this movie. I saw it in the theater and then went to spend part of the summer with my dad [who was, at the time, an over the road trucker]. I read the book on that trip, and had a lot of fun picturing T-Rexes and velociraptors chasing us across the midwest. Delicious. I've probably watched it twenty times this year alone.)
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
Finding Nemo (2003)
Spider-Man 3 (2007) (I waited to Netflix this one. I got smart. It's also the one I don't own.)
Forrest Gump (1994)
The Lion King (1994)
Shrek the Third (2007)
Transformers (2007)
Iron Man (2008) (I know! I still haven't seen it!)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008)
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007)
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)
Independence Day (1996)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
The Sixth Sense (1999)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
Home Alone (1990)
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
Meet the Fockers (2004) (I think I used to own this movie, by some online ordering mix-up, and I have absolutely no desire to watch it. Ever.)
Shrek (2001)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
The Incredibles (2004)
Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
Jaws (1975)
I Am Legend (2007)
Monsters, Inc. (2001)
Batman (1989)
Night at the Museum (2006) (This was a lot cuter than I expected, though still pretty stupid.)
Men in Black (1997)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)
Toy Story 2 (1999)
Cars (2006) (I waited a long time to see this because I thought it looked stupid. I was wrong. I'm not sure how I feel about the message behind it, but I have this fondness for Route 66 and the way the interstates changed the nation. I blame this on my father, and living near part of Route 66 in Missouri.)
Bruce Almighty (2003)
Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
Twister (1996) (This is another one I saw multiple times in the theater with different groups of high school friends. S. and I used to storm chase, and though we both thought Twister was ridiculous, we couldn't stop watching it either.)
My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)
Ghostbusters (1984) (I actually just watched this the other day. Not for the first time, obviously.)
Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
War of the Worlds (2005)
Cast Away (2000) (This was the movie we went to see the first time I ever went to the movies on Christmas Day. I was spending it with J.'s family in California.)
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) (I now own the boxset, so I've watched this one twenty times, or more, this year, too. I just watched JP3 earlier, and yet I have this urge to rewatch them because of this meme.)
Signs (2002)
Hancock (2008)
The Bourne Ultimatum (2007) (This is the only Bourne movie I've seen, though J. owns all of them - in fact, I bought all of them for him. This is also the first movie I watched after moving to Michigan. J. and I went to watch it the week he brought me my furniture.)
Rush Hour 2 (2001)
WALL·E (2008)
National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007)
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
King Kong (2005)
Ghost (1990)
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Aladdin (1992)
Alvin and the Chipmunks (2007)
Saving Private Ryan (1998) (You'd think, considering how much I enjoy war movies and love Vin Diesel, that I would have seen this. I've only seen parts of it, and not his part, actually.)
Mission: Impossible 2 (2000) (I've never seen any of them, but I love the music from this one.)
Kung Fu Panda (2008) (This was the first movie I went to see in Seattle this summer. We intended to go see Chronicles of Narnia, but it was sold out.)
X2: X-Men United (2003)
Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Back to the Future (1985)
300 (2006)
Wedding Crashers (2005)
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Ratatouille (2007)
Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)
Batman Begins (2005)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
The Exorcist (1973)
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Armageddon (1998) (Okay, so the theme song to this was L. and D.'s "song". D. was one of my best friends, and L. is my sister. It's still really hard for me to watch this and listen to the song because of that, and how much fun the three of us had running around Missouri, and how bad the breakup was.)
Superman Returns (2006)
Gone With the Wind (1939)
Pearl Harbor (2001)
Happy Feet (2006)
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)
Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006)
Madagascar (2005)
Toy Story (1995)
Men in Black II (2002)
Gladiator (2000)
The Day After Tomorrow (2004) (I like the movie, but my favorite thing about it is the fandom thing it inspired, where people wrote fic based on other fandoms experiencing this. Or something like that - mostly I remember a story where Bobby killed himself trying to control water/ice.)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
I watch a lot of movies, apparently. Though I don't watch as many this year as last year, because I have cable and dvr and all sorts of reruns. In fact, I am currently watching Roseanne reruns. Yes again.
First final of the week is tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. God, I can't wait to be done.
