Dear Shipoween Creator,

It’s my favorite time of year: horror and Halloween and fall weather and Shipoween.

Below, I provide Do Not Wants and general likes, then fandom-specific details. If there is a discrepancy between the DNWs and general likes and the fandom-specific information, go with the fandom-specific information. Mixing and matching fandoms and prompts more than welcome.

My absolute favorite things: werewolves, crossovers and alternate universes, and monsters and magic.

I requested fic and spooky, seasonal, and no theme. I know this is a Trick or Treat thing and not a Shipoween thing, but I find it useful and want to include a similar note here: You may ignore my art/fic preferences for extra gifts.

What I like: Clearly I am all threesomes all the time when it comes to Bones. For both sets, I love the friendships that built between them even when there was jealousy and awkwardness and the way all three people involved are smart and talented and wildly competent in their own ways.

Seeley Booth/Temperance Brennan/Hannah Burley

I loved the hell out of Hannah’s friendship with Bones and thought they sparked off each other very well, and of course both of them with Booth. I hated that Hannah left the show so quickly. She and Bones together were nice, sharp edges to Booth’s squishy emotional core; Hannah and Bones were both driven in their own ways, determined to make a difference, and threw themselves into their work without much regard for their own safety. And it was wonderful.

Prompts:

Hannah’s not the marrying type, but she and Bones remained friends. Now that things are less awkward, she starts coming around to visit Bones and the kids, and the flirtation with all of them begins. Slow build, quick fall into the sparks between them, any sort of beginning for the threesome, awkward or funny or hot or sweet or all of the above.

Canon divergence where Booth doesn’t put the marriage pressure on Hannah and the threesome builds from their relationships with each other and with Bones. Late night drinking, girls’ night out adventures, sneaky mistletoe kisses to woo Bones, I’d love to see it all.

I love how competent they are, and I think Hannah would be a great addition to how well Bones and Booth work together. Hannah lands face first in a murder mystery and calls them in. They come at things from two different sides and reconnect. Complete AU where Hannah meets Bones and Booth after they’re already together and while they work to solve a mystery, they also fall in love.

Wendell Bray/Jack Hodgins/Angela Montenegro

I love everything about them. I love how Wendell and Jack dealt with jealousy around Angela, I love how Wendell wanted to do the right thing during Angela’s pregnancy scare but in a way that didn’t work for Angela, I love how Jack wanted to do the right thing during Angela’s pregnancy scare in a way that did work for Angela, I love how Angela drew Wendell naked and Wendell gave that to Jack, I love the friendships between each of them and the snark and the flirtation.

Prompts:

Angela’s always been open about her sexuality and going after what she wants, and what she wants is both of them together with her. More naked art, shenanigans at the bar, trapped in the lab because of a snowstorm or another potential outbreak or anything, really.

Case fic and murder adventures! As above, I love the different ways they’re competent, and I’d love to see them work together to save the day.

Romance tropes galore: trapped in a cabin, secret santa flirtations, holiday romances, friends to lovers, they’re all great.

All the wild AUs. Weird west! Outer space! Wendell’s the newest werewolf at the Jeffersonian and the others have to show him the ropes.




Criminal Minds (US TV)

What I like: I adored Garcia and Morgan’s relationship throughout the show. The way they flirted, the way they supported each other, the lighthearted bits and the deeply emotional bits and everything in between. And while I do ship them (and them + Savannah), I love all their love and flirtation and emotion being completely platonic, too.

Luke and Garcia, however, I ship like burning. I love how she was so reticent to welcome him at all when he first arrived, much less accept his place on the team when he joined them full time. I love how he picks at her and lets her make these wild assumptions and blow up over things until she learns the truth and this is adorable in her snarky apologies (ROXY). I love how they do and do not work together well all at the same time, and how testy Garcia gets when he’s grounded from field work and ends up working closely with her. I love how when she had to go into the field with him, she had to trust him to keep them alive no matter how much she didn’t want to and how well they worked together then. I love how they’ve both shown they’re willing to push (if not completely blow up) the lines of legality and the restrictions of the job in order to do what they believe is morally and ethically right. I love their snark and their banter and their sparks.

Since I adore how Derek and Garcia love each other and love Garcia/Alvez together, I’d be thrilled to see the two of them have to team up with Derek over something, or Derek turn up and take them out drinking and dancing, or Derek just hanging out and being a great BFF for Garcia. (Savannah is more than welcome, I love her, too.)

As for Lisa, I like her character a lot and would prefer her canon relationship with Alvez be handled without villainizing her. Canon divergence where that blind date led to friendship not romance, breaking up on good terms, vague offscreen breakup like in the final season, whatever, I like her and don’t want her treated badly.

Prompts:

Solving murder mysteries with snark and sparks and smarts. Alvez being grounded from field work leads to them growing closer professionally and personally. Alvez sets out to woo Garcia and somehow it works. Secret valentines. Dog park playdates with Roxy. Post-canon first date and all that comes after it. Garcia has to unofficially help out on a new case.

Snark easing into snarky flirtation easing into actual romance. Team bonding where Garcia and Alvez bond surprisingly well. Garcia brings the whole team in for one of her holiday gatherings, including Alvez. Throwing another event (that engagement surprise turned out pretty great, after all). Garcia works hard to stay close to the team, but she shouldn’t always have to be the one reaching out, so a surprise team gathering for her.

We’ve already seen one beautiful case in Alaska and how isolated it was, how tight-knit the community, how Garcia threw herself into trying to help someone even when it put her in danger. Getting stuck somewhere remote and having to rely on the people with her to survive, because she’s not really the outdoorsy type.

Alternate universes. Garcia is a genius with spaceships! Solving mysteries from planet to planet. What sort of investigatory teams do they send out in space? Team as werewolf pack! Monster hunters of a more supernatural sort. Haunted house or summer camp or old building or car or spaceship. Chased by monsters.

Tropey romance! Snowed in, trapped on a plane, hurt/comfort after a bad case, injuries and helping each other survive, talking each other through doing something the other one’s not necessarily good at on their own, undercover couple, fake relationship, all of it.

What I like: I just love Ellie Myers a lot. I love her as a human trying to hold the family together after their parents died, and I love her as a werewolf struggling to figure out what she’s become and having to kill her love to protect her brother, and as a werewolf who doesn’t have to stop being a werewolf.

I’m down for Ellie the human who doesn’t know about the supernatural meeting these supernatural women instead of Jake; Ellie the former-werewolf current human being drawn back into the supernatural world; or Ellie the werewolf finding other werewolves (and the occasional vampire). Or anything else, really.




Cursed (2005)

What I like: It's a shiny, fun movie about werewolves in the same vein (heh) as Lost Boys was for vampires, in that horror-comedy-ridiculous things kind of way. I love Ellie and her brother trying to navigate life without their parents, and Ellie trying to find ways to love and be loved when she's hurting so much. And I love the hell out of werewolves.

The Meg (2018)

What I like: Pretty much everything! I love how it takes a tropey creature feature, adds characters with decently developed personalities, and makes me love everything about them. I love Meiying being feisty and smart, I love the snarkiness between Jonas and Suyin (and really Jonas and Meiying, too). I love how competent both Jonas and Suyin are in their own ways, how they save each other multiple times, how Suyin judges him harshly in the beginning and then comes around but that doesn’t soften the edge of their teasing. I love how much Suyin wants to make her father proud, and how heartbroken she is over his loss and his final words to her. I love Meiying’s sense of adventure and drive to explore, just like the adults around her. I love Jonas’ sense of humor and dry wit. I love how they basically become one big family as they work together, Lori and Jax and DJ and Mac, too, all of them, survivors or the dead.

Prompts:

What other creatures come up from the deep? Giant octopus making its way? How long can Suyin possibly stay away from science and diving? Surely word will get out and some government or laboratory somewhere will go back down, certain they can control it, and then it goes terribly wrong.

Jonas, Suyin, and Meiying take that vacation. Maybe far away from the water, but maybe in it, too. Meiying teasing Jonas through daily life and the adventures she gets into making the adults scramble after her. Lori and Jaxx learning how to live as survivors when others died to save them.

Alternate universes. Everyone lives. Prehistoric creatures aren’t the only monsters in the world, and the more they look at strange events, the more they find. IN SPACE! And all the alien life they would find there. Superheroes saving the world. Time travel shenanigans. Weird west, maybe with werewolves.

I love tropey romance: forced proximity, hurt/comfort, relying on each other to survive, fake relationship, two people one bed, everything. My favorite thing about the interactions in the movie is the way everyone has sharp edged snark and jokes without being cruel, a give and take that is fun for all.




Pacific Rim
Raleigh Becket/Mako Mori

What I like: Robots fighting monsters. The way humanity goes on around all the strangeness, driven to survive. Mako’s love for the jaegers, particularly Gipsy Danger, and how hard she’s worked to restore it. The worldbuilding of the drift intrigues me to no end, especially how it does or does not change people outside the actual connection. I love how Raleigh watches Mako, believing in her, eager and excited whenever she’s around. I love the give and take between them both physically and mentally. I love how at the end, that they have both survived is more important than a movie-ending kiss.

I only know the first movie.

Prompts:

Give me more adventures! They’ve closed the rift. Mako and Raleigh both survive. What do they do next? Does the program completely end? Do they get funding and support again because who knows what will come next? Do organizations try to take the science developed and discovered during the kaiju years and open up something even more terrible?

Alternate universes and fusions. What if Raleigh and Mako had to keep piloting through more kaiju? Draft compatibility works better if you’re a werewolf or a vampire or a shapeshifter or whatever, so people get infected in order to drift better and be heroes. IN SPACE! Taking the fight to the next threat. Dimension-hopping shenanigans. Pilots go rogue and take their Jaegers with them. Lots of fandoms have Pacific Rim fusions where those characters are Jaeger pilots; what sort of fusions could Raleigh and Mako fit into?

Quiet moments during the movie, quiet moments in the time after, whatever, what does life look like for Mako and Raleigh? They’ve both lost so much, how do they get through that, individually and together? Mourning and love and heartache and acceptance, and so on.




Trick ‘r Treat (2008)

What I like: Werewolves. Vicious, violent, vivacious women who are werewolves. The way sisters and sister-friends fight and bond. Werewolf traditions.

Prompts:

Werewolves as chosen family. Do they consider each other a pack? Is that even how werewolves work here? Laurie’s young and they tease her a lot, but there’s plenty of love between them. There are many Halloweens to come, and all of them bathed in blood. They aren’t always hunting and killing, and slice of life around the violence (including the violence, maybe).

Worldbuilding. Werewolves hunting their prey. Sometimes in neighborhoods full of people. Sometimes in secluded woods. Does silver work on them? Other rituals beyond the special “first time” and the Halloween feast. Are werewolves only women and do they only hunt men?

Alternate universes and crossovers. Clearly I love werewolves in space. Laurie and her sister-friends team up with women werewolves in any other fandom. Weird west werewolves choosing first time victims from outlaws and gunslingers.
