+ The Apocalyptothon is taking fandom suggestions for the next ficathon. You don't have to intend to sign up for it to vote, so go list the things you'd love to read, if nothing else.

I love "normal" fandoms hit by an apocalypse myself. I'd love to see Blue Crush or The Fast and the Furious during an apocalypse. (In fact, I may have to write these anyway -- I just had a Blue Crush apocalypse idea.)

+ [livejournal.com profile] cofax7 has an interesting post defending John Winchester. I, personally, am a big fan of Daddy Winchester, and do not understand why so much of fandom hates him.

Before I went to the gym, J. came to get me because Billy Wirth's American Gladiators appearance was on tv during some marathon. This was back in the days of long hair and strong upper body. Yum. He still looked a lot like Dwayne then.

"A quiet guy who the fans really like." Yeah, that sounds about right.

This has been sitting here all evening. I should hit post. Also, as usual, I am really far behind on livejournal, and am reading sporadically whenever I get the chance.

Another gread idea I wish for you all to see!

[livejournal.com profile] batoutofkansas, a Supernatural fic challenge based around lyrics off of Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell album, is now taking sign-ups.

I just realized if there was a post-apocalyptical fic challenge based on Meat Loaf lyrics I might possibly die of the glee.

(So I'm making my own, private challenge. It's not like I don't overdose on Meat Loaf every day anyway. I recently learned my boss also loves his music, and every other song on yesterday's office playlist was Meat Loaf. Heaven.)

[livejournal.com profile] brynwulf has a poll up checking interest in a post-apocalyptical panfandom fic archive. Please go vote yes! We need this! I need this. One place to get all the post-apocalyptical fic I can stand? Heaven!

Possibly my favorite writing scenario ever is The End of the World and What Happens After.

So far today I have drank:

+ 16 ounces of water
+ 16 ounces of mate vana and peppermint tea (hot)
+ 16 ounces of caribbean breeze tea (iced)
+ 22 ounces of plain tea (iced) (Half of a 44 ounce I'm still drinking)
+ 12 ounces of diet Dr. Pepper

It's a thirsty day. Hungry day, too, I'm absolutely starving for protein.

Speaking of tea, have all you fans heard of Teavana? Back in November, when J., A., and I went holiday shopping, we discovered one of the stores in St. Louis, and fell in love with their flavors. Then, for Christmas, the boss bought the office their huge tea set, and I've fallen even more in love. All the teas I've drank today, except for the plain tea, is Teavana, and they are all delicious. I think some of you would really, really like it.

The mate vana and peppermint mix is one of my favorites, but I'm also fond of their azteca fire, which is a little like Mexican hot chocolate.

According to [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda in this post, there is some big thing where Peter S. Beagle is not getting paid for The Last Unicorn, or something. Really, go read her post, it's full of interesting links and that information. Anyway, my point is that she linked to Conlan Press which has permission from Lionsgate to sell the 25th anniversary edition of the movie and more than half of each sale goes directly to Beagle. I find that pretty cool, and I know some of you are probably interested in the new edition, so I thought I'd link.

Plus, if you purchase the version for $24.98, you get it signed in three places, which is even more cool.

In honor of the upcoming Dresden Files and Battlestar Galactica line-up on Sunday nights, I present you with this link: [livejournal.com profile] shiggysicons has a number of Dresden Files icons available.

From [livejournal.com profile] myln, Pinup girls made of letterforms. (Not work safe.) I probably should find those as hot as I do, but pinup girls! Letterforms! Together! As one!

From [livejournal.com profile] hermionesviolin, Vampire Vineyards. I'd like to try that wine.

Edited to add: The poster which really makes me want to see 300.

And here I was just thinking that my holiday fic list was very small this year, now I know why - all the ficathons I love (except for Yuletdie) occur after the new year.

Anyway, Remix Redux is starting up again, and it is always a lot of fun. Some of the rules have changed this year, and [livejournal.com profile] musesfool explains them all in a post here.

Come, join the fun. It's a great time, and I've always received excellent stories and really enjoyed the authors I've remixed.

[livejournal.com profile] femslash07 has a poll about the possible fandoms to include this year. (I love this ficathon, and can't wait.)

[livejournal.com profile] tenyearsofbuffy has a post about the rules and process for the Ten Years of Buffy ficathon (not fic exchange). (I am also looking forward to this one, especially since I've been watching it so often with A. lately. We're about halfway through season two, and I think I'm going to see if she wants to watch more tonight.)

[livejournal.com profile] cadhla has the best, funniest turkey recipe I've seen. Well, real recipe. I don't cook, and I certainly wouldn't try a turkey--but she makes me want to try, and that's impressive in and of itself.

[livejournal.com profile] spiffy_themes has a Lilo & Stitch mood theme I may have to snag and use with credit, along with a number of other themes and icons.

[livejournal.com profile] inlovewithnight wrote three soft, fluffy fics, one Angel, one Firefly, one Hornblower. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been needing fluffy sweet fics lately, and since I've never needed them before, I'm a little afraid of my desire for soft stories, but these helped.
A lot.

I have no content, only links. It's not been the best month.

I've been sick and still writing, so I have no time to post anything thoughtful, just links.

The new Playwitch featuring Bill Weasley.

From [livejournal.com profile] fox1013, in the manner of the Random Vin Diesel Fact Generator, please tell me some random facts about me.

Differences between Firefly and Serenity, with very few spoilers.

So much writing, so little time.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] das_hydra. I know you won't see this until you get back (if then), but I'm wishing you well and a good CD time.

I need to finish this conversation with [livejournal.com profile] thestalkycop and get to bed.
